Rosalind- next steps

I hope this information will ensure that you and your guests enjoy your day to the full:

So- what’s next?

Our first meeting is a no-obligation general discussion about what you have in mind for your special day.

  • If you decide to go ahead, the next step is to make a firm booking.
  • I provide a simple written agreement, which secures the date of your wedding, makes expectations clear and also covers you as far as possible for any unforeseen circumstances. It’s best if possible to also agree at this stage a time for the final run through.
  • We then start working together on all the different aspects of your ceremony. This can be done during this first meeting, or some couples prefer to have a questionnaire which you return to me soon afterwards. Sometimes I provide a skeleton script for you to add to and adapt. You choose the approach which works best for you.
  • I write your complete draft wedding script and send it to you for your approval and any amendments by the date we have agreed.
  • After that we redraft the script together until you’re happy with it. The final script will be written especially for you.

How many times do we need to meet?

  • This does depend to some extent on where you both live and what is practical. For a simple ceremony we might only meet twice, using email/phone calls in between to amend the script together, followed by a final meeting just before the ceremony to have a run through/rehearsal.
  • Within reason we can meet as often as is necessary, but I try to make sure everything possible is agreed about a month before the wedding day. This gives you time to concentrate on all the other things you have to do.
  • After the ceremony, I’ll give you a Presentation Copy of your wedding script as a record and memento of your day. Some couples also like to have an electronic copy to share with family and friends.

When is payment made?

I ask for a deposit at the time of the written agreement: normally this is around a third of the total.  The balance of the fee is due no later than one week before the wedding. You will be given receipts.

Fees

No ceremony is the same and all couples have different requirements: from a traditional wedding length of around 40 minutes to a minimalist ceremony which might be a simple, private renewal of vows and there are many options in between.  Similarly not all couples have the same circumstances and budget constraints, so please get in touch by phone or email for an individual quote and we can find an arrangement that is fair all round.
